You hosted us on Sunday during your Open Days after A failed the writing of Baccalaureate ... We thank you because without your advice and the availability of the Director, we would not have come so quickly to this solution which we hope is a good one. We did not know about the world of private schools outside the contract: the two directors we met were impressive and we hope our son will know how to reset his foot and finish favourably what we have been committed!
Firstly, I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality and your availability during our visit with our son. We really appreciated this interview which allowed us to relate to the situation and make decisions more thoughtfully. P. himself has acknowledged that this interview had brought him "good things" and that he had appreciated your "speech".
When I made contact with ODIEP, the situation seemed intractable. My son, then enrolled in a public school, was "disgusted" of study and determined to finish high school as quickly as possible and to accept whatever orientation it might be. The interview with a counselor at ODIEP lasted one good hour: not only the analysis of the transcripts of the last three years, in-depth discussion with my son, comments on his results, talking about his school experience, his difficulties, also the highlights of his qualifications and wishes, as well as listening to the parents. After one hour the diagnosis was made: the repetition was needed..... An appointment was made with the headmaster of a high school preferred by ODIEP according to the adequacy of its teaching and its convenience of access from our home. Between that moment and the final registration of the institution, the presence of ODIEP by telephone was constant: introduction to the headmaster, telephone counselling, psychological boost because the idea of repetition and changing schools were not easy to "swallow. Throughout this period which, we do not hide, was a period of crisis, ODIEP was a genuine and effective partner and to listen to ... In any case, the return went well, my son has made a good heart and had a good first impression of his new teachers and that was not far from win. My thanks go to ODIEP for their competence, efficiency, human qualities and the advisors’ willingness to listen. Thanks to them, we have been able to find an optimal solution. I can only make recommendations to parents who do not know much on how to navigate the orientation of their children not to hesitate to contact ODIEP.

The future of my son became a subject of anxiety ... A friend that I spoke to suggested that I go to ODIEP where her children had completely found their way and motivation. I was a little skeptical because by then the direction of my children had been a real course of obstacle! People told me that "they were void’’, that they could do nothing and that under this condition people could do nothing for them. I called the ODIEP where for the first time I felt listened to by a charming lady. Based on the facts I gave to her, she suggested that I make an assessment. I decided to jump into the water and convinced my son to go for the first meeting. We were hosted and they listened to us together and separately and I was surprised at their attention given to the personality of each of us and to listening to the situation. Curiously we did not start by talking, as elsewhere, about grades at school, tests and subjects that are always perilous for him but the project, purpose and goal discovery. My son felt understood and involved and played the game. The very personalized assessment that he followed with a career counselor has re-motivated him and he presented us his final project to accomplishing which he had decided the courses to undertake. He was so happy that it was unbelievable! The assessment is very well done. The counsellor was able to accompany my son in his choices, while helping to build his career for years to come, to regain confidence in him and find sources of motivation. The final interview allowed us to better understand the operation mode of our son and the blocking. Tensions have declined significantly at home since then and everything is back to normal ...
